With Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis being amongst the most common sexually transmitted diseases within the U.S.A there is a good reason to be worried about the health of your last, present or next sexual partner.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced at a National STD Prevention Conference in Washington that significant infection rate increases are breaking all-time highs and that STDs are a serious health risk to the average American. You can read a CNN article referring to the announcement and its impacts here https://edition.cnn.com/2018/08/28/health/std-rates-united-states-2018-bn/index.html
With little or no visible symptoms these infections can spread easily across a sexually active population. In recent years condom usage has dropped off possibly due to the lack of public announcements or other social behaviours that promote sexual activities. This may be a significant contributing factor although these infections can still be transmitted with condom usage as bodily fluids and skin contact are enough to transmit such bacterial infections as Chlamydia.
